Birkhead Can Leave
A Bahamian court cleared the way for Anna Nicole Smith’s ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead to leave the Bahamas with their infant daughter, rejecting an appeal by Smith’s estranged mother. The judge ruled that a court in the United States would likely have the final say in the custody dispute between Virgie Arthur and Larry Birkhead, who was confirmed as the 7-month-old baby’s father after undergoing DNA testing. Arthur was challenging a judge’s decision to allow Birkhead to leave the Bahamas with the baby. Her attorneys argued that Birkhead might not return as directed for another private hearing in the case on June 8.”I’m happy, because this is nonsense really,” Birkhead said outside the courthouse. Birkhead said he plans to leave for the United States once he corrects Dannielynn’s birth certificate to list him as the father. In refusing to consider Arthur’s application, a three-member appeals panel noted that both she and Birkhead wanted to take the child to the United States.”So what is the problem, what is the fear? The child is going to the States anyhow no matter who gets custody,” Justice Emmanuel Osadebay said. The court also ordered Arthur to pay Birkhead $3,000 in legal costs. Smith’s last companion, Howard K. Stern, who had been listed as the infant’s father, patted Birkhead on the back after the ruling and said he was preparing himself emotionally to hand over custody.”It’s difficult for me, but since paternity tests made it clear that Larry was the father, I knew it was inevitable,” Stern said. “I just want Dannielynn to have a good life, and I’m confident Larry will give it to her.” Stern said he hopes to be involved in the girl’s upbringing but that was up to Birkhead. “I’m not requiring written papers or court orders,” he said. A lawyer for Birkhead, Emerick Knowles, said his client hopes to leave for the United States once he secures a passport for Dannielynn but plans to return for the hearing in June.”He’d be silly not to,” Knowles said. “He has every intention of complying with the law.”

Larry, I belive will take assume care of the baby weather she getts all that money or not.
You can see in his eyes that he loves that baby, and her mother that they both lost.
Grandma, Virgie, needs to back off. Larry would not stop her from seeing her
grandbaby. I do belive grandma wants the baby because of the money she might
get, there is no way that women wants to raise a child at her age. Virgie also belives
that she should have got money from Anna was alive just because she was her mother, and when Anna would not give, Virgie stopped talking to her. Now she wants the baby so she can finally get money from the daugther thatsaid no. I belive Virgie would take the money and make she she herself was taken care of but she would only give Dannilynn only what she had to.
Thank God Larry was the father, Howard may have love Anna and Dannel, but what kind of love is it when you know they are doing drugs, help them get the drugs and feed them the drugs. He vidoed Anna at 8 months pregnet, clearly high the a kit, and his comment wasn’t, Anna you should not be doing this to you or the baby. Instead he tells her, ” Some day this tape will be worth money.”
If thats love then who needs it!!
Howard may have taken good care of the baby, but I don’t see how. The only way of life for him was Anna paying for everything. He’s not working and hasn’t sence he got together with Anna.
She was his meal tickit. He would not beable to support her inless he went on welfare.
Sad but true.
So I say, THANK GOD, Larry is her daddy. He has a job, he can take care of her even if the money does not come her way. And I belive if she getts the money, Larry would put all of it in a trust fund for her and not use any of it on them selves.

Did Smith even know which of the men involved was the father?

The impression I’ve always had was that Howard Stern was always more of friend type of relationship and that Larry’s was mostly sexual.
Whether Anna ever really had sex with Howard we will never know but I just don’t see their relationship on that level. I also don’t think Larry really ever met her needs in any manner than sexual.
Therefore, while I think Anna would have preferred Howard Stern as a father, I believe she knew it was Larry
