After months of speculation, The Spice Girls, Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham, Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell, Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm, Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton and Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown announced they were reuniting, six years after they split.The world tour will take place in December and January. They are also releasing a greatest hits album and planning to re-release their movie ‘Spice World’ to coincide with their reunion. The shows will be their first concerts since breaking up in 2001, and the first with all five of the original group since Halliwell quit to pursue a solo career in 1998.”We want to celebrate the past, enjoy being together and say thank you toour fans. It just feels very right for us,” Chisholm said The band also said they can’t wait to don their famous old outfits again. Mel B revealed: “I will be wearing leopard skin and Geri will have her UnionJack dress on.” Mel C added: “I want to wear my tracksuit again. I will be going down themarket looking for a shell suit. Hats off to our characters.” The Spice Girls are set to kick off their 11-date world tour in December in Los Angeles, followed by shows in Las Vegas, New York City, Buenos Aires, London, Cologne, Madrid, Beijing and Sydney. In conjunction with the tour, EMI said it plans to release the first Spice Girls greatest hits album in November. The group also plans to make their first official documentary for TV broadcast.”It’s going to be the most honest story that you’ve ever heard,” Halliwell said. “You get to see the dark side of the Spice Girls, the gritty side, the tears.”
